You can also earn cash back by applying the points as statement credits or depositing them into a checking or savings account at the rate of 1 cent per point.

Unfortunately, although this is a Chase card, there are no options to transfer points to other Chase cards. Also, points can be applied only to one Amazon Prime account.

Though Chase has made the sign-up process easy for current cardholders, this comes with a major drawback: There are other advantages to putting your Amazon purchases on your Prime card.

The card helps protect your purchases with some good benefits, including extended warranty and purchase protection. That said, the card is conspicuously lacking a couple of common purchase protections.

There is also no price protection feature, which means cardholders cannot use the card to search for lower prices on their Amazon purchases.

Likewise, if you frequently make purchases on foreign sites, you can use the card to avoid a 2 to 3 percent fee on your purchases.

Amazon Credit Card As a result, offers described on this page may be out of date. Today, I call Chase and was shuffled around to 4 departments until I was finally told that I have too many new accounts and my credit is also too new.

I asked why this was not an issue when they issued the card, had me waste my time verifying my identity and made me spend 45 minutes with 4 different people trying to correct what I thought was a mistake.

It sucks that there is no recourse, I dont give a damn about the credit, I do not need it and only wanted it to have another good reporting account and to build my available credit and make my utilization percentage even better than it is currently.

I do hate that these banks like Chase can screw people, waste their time and have no penalty for doing so.

But the second a consumer screws up, they are on them like a pack of jackals. Top rated Most recent Top rated. I thought I would try it after being presented with the opportunity at the checkout screen for a couple of years now. I had a purchase of a Laptop coming up and thought that would be a great time to exercise bonus features of a card like this.

Boy was I ever wrong. The nightmare started when I had finally made my decision to purchase and wanted my new laptop express shipped because my previous PC finally died.

The card activation went without a hitch and so did the purchase, well at least it seemed that way on the surface. I received a order confirmation and was told the unit would ship overnight.

I was confused, it was a brand new card with a huge available credit balance on it. I had nothing else to go on, no note from Amazon or a card issuer so I had to start making phone calls.

Amazon support told me that they had Chase issue the card and I had to call them. After spending a half hour on hold I was told I couldn't talk to anyone about the card without knowing the card number.

Being that I had not yet received a card, that was impossible. A couple of hours of escalation later, I was able to talk to a 'supervisor' who told me that the they routinely decline large purchases as a fraud prevention policy.

My other lenders all just call me or text me and ask if I am making a large purchase, they don't decline the sale! Chase insisted that was proper.

Needless to say I didn't get the laptop after 3 days of screwing around. I immediately canceled the account with them as now I was mad. I didn't really need the card anyway and purchased it with an existing account.

The pain didn't stop there however. Chase had told me they canceled the card, but it really wasn't canceled. They had immediately charged it with a 99 cent activation fee.

Arguing got me no where and I ended up paying the late fee and the extra dollar to get rid of something that caused me nothing but trouble from the minute I clicked the accept button.

So glad I did not shred it or throw it away. I whipped out the trusty Discover Card and, presto, charge approved. I called the Chase Service Line obviously not in the US from the sound of the young lady on the other end , and asked why my card had been refused.

Her explanation; "you are a new customer and you are on probation". Back the truck up. Out comes the Discover card and problem solved.

We are now at strike two with Chase and this not-so-wonderful credit card they are peddling. Second call to Chase Customer Service.

Back to an offshore service center. When I asked why the card was declined this time, the young lady said there was an "unusual" charge to Delta Airlines.

I tried to set up an Amazon Prime credit card account. I received a letter asking for a call back. They asked for a fax of my driver's license.

I received a letter asking for a call back. They asked for a fax of my driver's license. I faxed it to them. I then get a call asking me more security questions.

They then said the fax was not clear as the license is in color and has several holograms. It was then clear that I do not want to do business with Chase Bank.

After making a few purchases for home goods my card was declined. Called the listed on the back of the card and was told that there was fraudulent charges being made on the card.

I called Amazon and tried to file a complaint, both times I was shuttled over to the Chase bank, and then no response. Over the past week, Chase has been absolute incompetence.

The day after paying off my card, the card was declined when I tried to pay for a meal with my family. When I called to ask why, Chase said that the date was incorrect on the card.

I read the date back, and it was fine. A couple of hours later, I got an e-mail instructing me to call as soon as possible with respect to a fraud alert.

When I called, this seemed to be a repeat of the incident with the incorrect date. I asked why the story was changing and why I was having trouble using a card that I kept paid up.

The agent said that Chase would call within 24 hours to discuss the matter further. I gave them my cell number, since the numbers they had on file were obsolete.

When I got home, I checked online with Amazon and Chase, and they seem to be up-to-date electronically.

As for the promised call, it never came. This evening, my card was declined again when I took my family out to dinner.

Neither last week's meal nor tonight's meal were at expensive restaurants, just basic family places. I called Chase again, got no resolution, and I left my current number for a return call since they can't seem to use the electronic records that I keep up to date on their systems.

My call was disconnected while I was on hold, so I called back. The agent 'Andy' said that he could not get into my accounts and that someone would call back shortly.

As of this moment, I'm planning to drop this card the minute I can pay off the remaining pending charges. I had a couple issues with the card and chase customer service team could not have been more rude or unhelpful.

I've never experienced such poor customer service and hostility while trying to resolve an issue. If Amazon partenered with another bank I would certainly open up a card again, as the benefits were great.

This card has sneaky interest rate policies that you should be aware of prior to getting the card. I am a loan underwriter and credit analyst, so this experience was particularly irritating because I know exactly how credit cards work!

However, on the next statement I see I have been charged interest for the full balance PLUS my new purchases, of which I was still within the grace period at that point.

This happened again the following month. I told them I won't be using this card anymore, and that this is predatory. Beware, if you can't pay the balance in full by the due date each month, the interest you will be charged is not worth the rewards; you will wind up spending more on interest than you will receive back.
